BERLIN, GERMANY – NOVEMBER 9, 2009 – Today, at the Microsoft TechEd EMEA 2009, PreEmptive Solutions, the leading provider of solutions to protect, measure, and manage software development investments, announced the immediate availability of the latest release of the Dotfuscator Suite. New features include smart support for ClickOnce and Silverlight protection. Dotfuscator can now “round trip” the specialized deployment packaging for ClickOnce and Silverlight eliminating, for the first time, a significant amount of manual intervention that has, historically, been required.
“Protecting and monitoring Silverlight assemblies and applications deployed via ClickOnce has been a tedious and manual process due to the special way that these programs are built,” said Sebastian Holst, CMO PreEmptive Solutions. “With this latest release, Dotfuscator automatically hardens and instruments targeted assemblies without requiring any manual intervention whatsoever.”
Specialized deployment packaging is not unique to ClickOnce and Silverlight. Applications targeting the Azure platform also use a similar technique.
